“Love Token, “The Farm” , Hobo Nickel

The Farm. A farm scene with barn with plowed rows and edge design.

A contemporary, hand engraved love token by tmahr. A nice bright coin with hopefully nice detail and subtle cloud background. Created from a 1935D Buffalo nickel. Nice eye appeal.

Offered with all due respect, in the true Love Token sense.

Hobo Nickel “Rail Inspector” BicycleTrain Railroad Howard Thomas

“This is a 1937 carved hobo nickel. This is a not one you’ll see every day! He simply calls it “Rail Inspector”. There are several pictures of this one, at different angles to show the depth of the carving. By turning the nickel, different aspects of the depth and shading are shown, and may look slightly in each photo. It is signed on the back. Take a look! Please look closely at the pictures. We try to take the best photos possible and allow big enlargements so you can see exactly what you are getting! ” Click for more →

HOBO NICKEL Freaky Face GHOST Hand-Carved JH OHNS Spooky Wraith Art Buffalo Coin

Contemporary “HOBO NICKEL”, hand-carved SKULLPTURE by J. Hughey.

My “Freaky Faces” are created in a fun, free-style session where I begin by carving randomly into the coin. Eventually, shapes and patterns appear… as though already hiding (and waiting) within the nickel: Then I simply dig it out.

Since I begin my Freaky Faces without expectation, the designs must come from some subconscious level (which probably says far too much about ME… since most of these designs look like screaming ghouls and tortured souls!!!).

For some reason, I kinda’ favor this one, and have added several differing photos (including one colorful flash photo) to illustrate why I like it so much.

I am a registered member of the ORIGINAL HOBO NICKEL SOCIETY, and some of my earlier work is featured in the OHNS Carver’s Showcase. Each of my carvings is done free-hand (and through aging eyes, unfortunately): My monogram/logo appears on the reverse and the date is engraved along the rim/edge of this coin. Each carving ships in a vinyl 2×2 coin flip with hand-written identification as well as my signature. Original host coin is a GENUINE BUFFALO NICKEL, and that shown is the carving you will receive: Natural reverse may be toned upon winner’s request.” Click for more →
